Scope

This statement applies to the website gartenkern.de and all associated subdomains. It is published in accordance with the German Accessibility Strengthening Act (BFSG) and EU Directive 2016/2102.

Conformance status

This website is partially compliant with WCAG 2.2 Level AA.

The platform was built with accessibility in mind, using the open-source framework shadcn/ui (Base UI / Radix foundation), which itself provides WCAG-conforming components. Nevertheless, there are individual limitations, which we disclose below.

Non-accessible content

Layout editor

The graphical garden layout editor is based on HTML5 Canvas (Konva.js) and is not fully usable with a screen reader.

  • Status: alternative list view available
  • Reason: technical limitation of canvas rendering
  • Alternative: Areas and plantings can be edited via the list view under "Garden detail → Areas" without using the editor

Map view (MapLibre)

The interactive map for garden location is not fully usable via keyboard or screen reader.

  • Status: alternative address-input form available as fallback
  • Reason: WebGL-based map library, fundamental limitation

PDF documents

Order confirmations and plant passports are generated as PDFs. PDFs are tagged with ARIA, but accessibility varies depending on reader software.
