About this federation

Regionalverband Gartenfreunde Freiberg is a district federation for allotment gardening in the Landkreis Mittelsachsen (Saxony). It emerged on 27 July 1990 as the Kreisverband der Kleingärtner und Wochenendsiedler Freiberg from the former East German district associations of Freiberg and Flöha, and has carried its current name since the district boundary reform of 1998. The federation comprises 116 allotment garden clubs with a total of around 5,325 plots and about 4,700 members, spanning an area from Rechenberg-Bienenmühle in the south to Siebenlehn in the north. It is affiliated with the Landesverband Sachsen der Kleingärtner e.V., which itself belongs to the Bundesverband Deutscher Gartenfreunde e.V.
