About this federation
Verband der Gartenfreunde Südbrandenburg e.V. is a district association of allotment gardeners headquartered in Elsterwerda (Brandenburg). It was formed on 2 October 2021 through the merger of the Bezirksverband Calau der Gartenfreunde e.V., the Bezirksverband der Gartenfreunde Finsterwalde und Umgebung e.V. and the Kreisverband Bad Liebenwerda der Gartenfreunde e.V. It covers the districts of Elbe-Elster and Oberspreewald-Lausitz, including the areas around Bad Liebenwerda, Elsterwerda, Finsterwalde, Doberlug-Kirchhain, Calau, Vetschau and Lübbenau. The association comprises 86 member clubs with about 3,700 plots across roughly 212 hectares of allotment garden land. It is a member of the Landesverband Brandenburg der Gartenfreunde e.V. and the Bundesverband Deutscher Gartenfreunde e.V.
